"I will renew your youth like the eagle's"

Flying lesson with Abba

One morning last week as I was looking for Abba, I found myself at a cliff, and there I saw a small, but very nice, plane. Then a second later I was inside the plane and Abba was sitting on my right side flying the plane.

As I was enjoying the beautiful panorama, suddenly I found myself as a (child) eagle and Abba as the (father) eagle. At first, He was carrying me on His left wing. But later on, I was spreading my wings and fly!

I was flying, soaring, over the skies, the clouds, and all along, Abba was with me all along. Never He let me fly alone. And the whole time, He was laughing, enjoying watching me enjoying myself. Abba is such a loving Father!

He showed me how to ride through storms, and as we did that, I saw the storms were far beneath me.

Later on when we finished flying, we sat down and as I was still trying to take in the experience, the lesson was clear: I was made to fly and to soar above storms. And Abba showed the key to do that.

Wait upon the LORD

Most of us are familiar with this, time and again we are told to wait upon the LORD. But what does that really mean?

Sharing from my own personal experience, I find that the things of God is not complicated, often it's simple, that even children can understand. So for me, waiting upon the LORD means just that.

Every morning and throughout the day as I seek Him, I quiet down my soul and tune in my spirit to Him, coming to Him with faith, believing He waits for me every time and He too looks forward to spending time together with me. Peace often comes as the sign of His presence, but I will also experience moments like the above in my spirit. And I would just commune and converse with Him like I would with a dear friend, but in this case, a dear Father.

Another aspect of waiting upon the LORD is that you continue doing what He's asked you to do until He gives the next instruction, this can be for a tactical day to day level like doing a personal fasting (how, when, etc), or it can be for a bigger, strategic level like a ministry or a calling.

In both aspects, I was never passive. Waiting upon the LORD is actually a very active thing to do. In the first aspect, my spirit was continually attentive and in communion with Him, listening, learning. While in the second aspect, I continue to do whatever assignment big or small He has given to me.

Ps. Bill Johnson in one of His teachings shared that the root words of waiting upon the LORD is that of giving birth. Well, for someone who had experience that before, I can definitely tell you, it's not passive at all!

In waiting upon Abba (I truly believe a big part of that is by spending a lot of time with Him, at least daily, undisturbed and consistently), He always gives me new strength, new level of peace, also often the big picture and strategy on how to deal with the challenges faced that at time. Just like what His word says in Isaiah 40: 31

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

But there's more

Do you know (and really believe) that Abba really cares about every aspect of your life? Not just your spiritual and emotional wellbeing, but also your physical and natural wellbeing.

About a month ago, He asked me to start fasting - one day a week. So I did, not knowing that there were many benefits of fasting from health point of view. The thing is I have been dealing with chronic gut issue for quite some time now and since the beginning of this year, I was asking Abba to heal me, but He told me I was already healed and pointed me to Isaiah 53:4-5.

So I asked Him why I was still experiencing symptoms. The Holy Spirit started to teach me what to eat and what not to eat, to balance my diet. And He then asked me to do 24-hour fast once a week, but also to do intermittent fasting for the rest of the week where I will only eat twice a day. The chronic gut issues have been massively disappearing, and I've been so amazed!

But it wouldn't have happened if I didn't spend time with Abba to hear His voice and heed His instruction! He told me that He's renewing my youth and I believe Him.

Interestingly, the night before the flying lesson, I was telling my husband that although I now only eat twice a day (which is really not easy for me because I love food!), but I really eat quality food: Abba Himself is feeding me with premium and quality food because He is renewing my youth!

Well, immediately after the flying lesson, the Spirit brought me to Psalm 103 and He gave me these verses:

Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's. (Psalm 103:1-5)

Coincidence? No, just Abba is doing His thing :)

I hope the sharing and testimony above blesses you and encourage you to start seeking Him in greater way than before. Benefits aside, it's the most important thing in life, to me the relationship with Abba it's my life line, and Abba is definitely worth it!
