Becoming love

Updated: Jun 6, 2020

One morning I found myself in a horse carriage with Abba. As I was enjoying our time together, He told me lovingly, "Daughter, I want you to not just love, but become love, because that's who you really are."

There's a difference in loving and becoming love.

To become love, it takes acknowledging that the subject of love might not be lovable, he or she might have hurt or disappointed or betrayed us, but we choose to love him or her anyway. It doesn't take anything to love someone who is lovely and nice and kind. But God kind of love is only formed when we love those who are undeserving of our love. And over time, every time we make such decision, we will become love. This is what Jesus meant in Matthew 5:44.

But I say unto you, love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; that ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for He makes his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.

The main thing God wants us to be is to be love. Just like Him. Just like Jesus. We might be generous, we might be serving, we might even be willing to die for a cause, but if we don't have love, it's pointless. That's basically what Paul says in 1 Corinthians 13:

If I were to speak with eloquence in earth’s many languages, and in the heavenly tongues of angels, yet I didn’t express myself with love, my words would be reduced to the hollow sound of nothing more than a clanging cymbal.

And if I were to have the gift of prophecy with a profound understanding of God’s hidden secrets, and if I possessed unending supernatural knowledge, and if I had the greatest gift of faith that could move mountains, but have never learned to love, then I am nothing.

And if I were to be so generous as to give away everything I owned to feed the poor, and to offer my body to be burned as a martyr, without the pure motive of love, I would gain nothing of value.

How can we become love you ask, to get God kind of love fill us so we can channel that love to the people?

By beholding Him, after all we become who we worship. Come into His presence every day and let Him love you and fill you with His love.

The world needs His love and we are the channel. Nothing is more important than us becoming love.

Beloved, desire spiritual gifts, but above all, focus on perfecting love. Loving Abba, loving people. Against love, there is no law.
